| CVE-2026-54574 | 1 Termux | 1 Proot-distro | 2026-07-30 | 8.2 High |
| proot-distro is a utility for managing proot containers. Prior to version 5.1.5, proot-distro install extracted plain tarball root filesystems through _extract_plain_tar() in proot_distro/commands/install.py and Docker layers through _apply_layer() in proot_distro/helpers/docker.py without validating archive-controlled symlink targets in member.linkname, allowing a malicious archive to plant an absolute host-path symlink and write files through it onto the host filesystem. This issue is fixed in version 5.1.5. | ||||
| CVE-2026-41937 | 2 Givanz, Vvveb | 2 Vvveb, Vvveb | 2026-07-28 | 7.2 High |
| Vvveb before 1.0.8.3 contains an unrestricted file upload vulnerability in the plugin upload endpoint that allows super_admin users to execute arbitrary PHP code by uploading a malicious plugin ZIP file. Attackers can craft a ZIP containing a plugin.php with a valid Slug header and a public/index.php file with arbitrary PHP code, which executes as the web server user once accessed via subsequent unauthenticated HTTP requests to the plugin's public path. | ||||
| CVE-2026-56748 | 1 Cribl | 1 Cribl Stream | 2026-07-28 | 8.8 High |
| Improper validation of symbolic links in the Pack Git import feature in Cribl Stream before 4.18.2 allows a remote authenticated attacker with Pack import and pipeline preview permissions to execute arbitrary code as the Cribl server process via a crafted Git repository containing a symbolic link in the pack's functions directory. | ||||
| CVE-2026-17459 | 1 Perwendel | 1 Spark | 2026-07-27 | 4.3 Medium |
| A vulnerability was determined in perwendel spark up to 2.9.4. This vulnerability affects the function staticFiles.externalLocation of the file src/main/java/spark/resource/ExternalResourceHandler.jav of the component SparkJava. Executing a manipulation can lead to symlink following. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploit has been publicly disclosed and may be utilized. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet. | ||||
| CVE-2026-65010 | 1 Huggingface | 1 Datasets | 2026-07-27 | 6.6 Medium |
| Datasets through 5.00, fixed in commit ad2d853, contains a symlink-following vulnerability in Extractor.extract() that allows local attackers to write arbitrary files by pre-planting symlinks at predictable output paths. Attackers can redirect archive extraction to arbitrary filesystem locations in shared-cache environments, enabling overwrite of sensitive files and potential privilege escalation or code execution. | ||||
| CVE-2026-12080 | 2 Qemu, Redhat | 4 Qemu, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Nvidia and 1 more | 2026-07-20 | 7.3 High |
| A flaw was found in the QEMU Guest Agent (qga). A local unprivileged user can exploit a vulnerability in the guest-ssh-add-authorized-keys command handler by manipulating symbolic links. This can occur either through a deterministic directory-symlink bypass or a Time-of-Check to Time-of-Use (TOCTOU) file-symlink race. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to gain ownership of arbitrary root-owned files or directories, leading to root access. This vulnerability requires an external management layer (e.g., libvirt) to trigger the affected code path. | ||||
| CVE-2026-39246 | 2 Kevva, Redhat | 2 Decompress, Hummingbird | 2026-07-14 | 7.5 High |
| decompress before 4.2.2 allows arbitrary symlink creation during archive extraction. When processing symlink entries (type === 'symlink'), the x.linkname field from the archive is passed directly to fs.symlink() without validation (index.js line 121). The preventWritingThroughSymlink check on line 98 only applies to file entries, not symlink creation. An attacker can craft an archive with symlink entries pointing to sensitive files outside the extraction directory (e.g., /etc/passwd), enabling information disclosure when the application reads the extracted contents. | ||||
| CVE-2026-59674 | 1 Suse | 1 Opensuse Tumbleweed | 2026-07-14 | 8.8 High |
| A UNIX Symbolic Link (Symlink) Following vulnerability in openSUSE Tumbleweed suricata package allows the suricata user to escalate to root. This issue affects openSUSE Tumbleweed: from ? before 8.0.5-2.1; openSUSE Tumbleweed: from ? before 8.0.5-2.1. | ||||
| CVE-2026-39822 | 1 Go Standard Library | 1 Os | 2026-07-10 | 7.8 High |
| On Unix systems, opening a file in an os.Root improperly follows symlinks to locations outside of the Root when the final path component of the a path is a symbolic link and the path ends in /. For example, 'root.Open("symlink/")' will open "symlink" even when "symlink" is a symbolic link pointing outside of the root. | ||||
| CVE-2026-14699 | 1 Zcaceres | 1 Markdownify-mcp | 2026-07-06 | 3.3 Low |
| A weakness has been identified in zcaceres markdownify-mcp up to 1.1.0. The affected element is the function assertPathAllowed of the file src/Markdownify.ts. Executing a manipulation can lead to symlink following. The attack can only be executed locally. The pull request to fix this issue awaits acceptance. | ||||
| CVE-2026-53489 | 1 Containerd | 1 Containerd | 2026-07-02 | 6.5 Medium |
| containerd is an open-source container runtime. Versions prior to 2.3.2, 2.2.5 and 2.1.9 contain a bug where the CRI plugin restores container.log from a checkpoint image without validating a symlinked path. This could result in reading an arbitrary file on the host via kubectl logs. This issue has been fixed in versions 2.3.2, 2.2.5 and 2.1.9. | ||||
| CVE-2026-41579 | 1 Opencontainers | 1 Runc | 2026-07-01 | 3.3 Low |
| runc is a CLI tool for spawning and running containers according to the OCI specification. In versions prior to 1.3.6, 1.4.0-rc.1, 1.4.0-rc.12, 1.5.0-rc.1, and 1.5.0-rc.1, when setting up the container rootfs, setupPtmx and setupDevSymlinks call os.Remove and os.Symlink with a filepath.Join string which allow an image with /dev as a symlink to trick runc into deleting files called ptmx on the host or creating a hardcoded set of symlinks with specific names and targets in an arbitrary pre-existing host directory. This issue is not exploitable under Docker, because Docker creates a top-level read-only layer that masks any malicious /dev symlink present in the container image — unlike some other Linux container tooling, whose higher-level runtimes built on runc remain exposed to exploitation via a malicious image. This issue has been fixed in versions 1.3.6, 1.4.3 and 1.5.0. | ||||
| CVE-2026-13748 | 1 Snowflake | 1 Snowflake Cli | 2026-07-01 | 6.3 Medium |
| Improper restriction of file path resolution in Snowflake CLI versions prior to 3.19 allowed arbitrary local file content to be read and transmitted to Snowflake services. An attacker could exploit this by supplying crafted repository or project content that referenced files outside the intended project boundary, causing Snowflake CLI to read local files and upload or embed their contents during deployment or SQL template processing. Successful exploitation required the victim to process attacker-controlled project content, and retrieval of exfiltrated data depended on access to the victim's Snowflake account artifacts such as query history or uploaded stage content. The fix is available in Snowflake CLI version 3.19, and users must manually upgrade. | ||||
| CVE-2026-56876 | 1 Max-mapper | 1 Extract-zip | 2026-06-30 | 8.1 High |
| extract-zip does not validate symlink targets when extracting zip archives. When processing a malicious zip file containing a symlink with a relative path like '../../../../etc/passwd', extract-zip will extract the symlink without validation, allowing it to point outside the extraction directory. Depending on how extract-zip is used, an attacker could read or write to arbitrary files. | ||||
| CVE-2026-55686 | 1 Podman-container-tools | 1 Podman | 2026-06-29 | 5.3 Medium |
| Podman is a tool for managing OCI containers and pods. From 3.0.0 until 5.7.1, running a malicious container image where the WORKDIR path contains a symlink can create a directory or modify ownership on the host filesystem. Modified ownership is less likely to happen as that requires help from an untrusted/malicious process that mutates the host filesystem tree during dereferencing of the WORKDIR path, to trigger a race condition. This vulnerability is fixed in 5.7.1. | ||||
| CVE-2026-13218 | 2 Kubevirt, Redhat | 3 Kubevirt, Container Native Virtualization, Openshift Virtualization | 2026-06-26 | 4.2 Medium |
| A flaw was found in KubeVirt's virt-handler network cache handling. The WriteToCachedFile function writes data to a launcher-rooted path using os.WriteFile and os.Chown without symlink protection. A user with access to the virt-launcher container can plant a symlink at the cache file path, causing virt-handler to follow it and overwrite an arbitrary host file with JSON content and change its ownership. | ||||
| CVE-2026-13201 | 2 Kubevirt, Redhat | 3 Kubevirt, Container Native Virtualization, Openshift Virtualization | 2026-06-26 | 7.3 High |
| A flaw was found in KubeVirt's safepath package used by virt-handler. The OpenAtNoFollow function uses O_PATH|O_NOFOLLOW to obtain a file descriptor to a path leaf, but downstream operations resolve the path via /proc/self/fd/N using link-following syscalls. When the leaf is a symlink, the kernel dereferences it, defeating the intended no-follow protection. An attacker with access to a virt-launcher pod can exploit this to redirect virt-handler's IPC socket connections, including the notify socket used for VM domain lifecycle events. By hijacking this socket, the attacker can inject arbitrary domain events into virt-handler, causing it to take incorrect lifecycle actions, corrupt VM state in the Kubernetes API, or crash — resulting in sustained denial of VM management services for all virtual machines on the affected node. Additionally, the same symlink following flaw allows virt-handler to apply file ownership or permission changes to unintended host paths. | ||||
| CVE-2026-52811 | 1 Gogs | 1 Gogs | 2026-06-25 | N/A |
| Gogs is an open source self-hosted Git service. Prior to 0.14.3, (*Repository).UploadRepoFiles checks for symlinks only on the leaf of the upload target (osx.IsSymlink(targetPath)). The siblings UpdateRepoFile, DeleteRepoFile, and GetDiffPreview use hasSymlinkInPath, which lstats every component — UploadRepoFiles is the lone outlier. An attacker with repo-write access plus a multipart upload whose filename contains a literal backslash (preserved by filepath.Base on Linux, then converted to / by pathx.Clean) redirects the write through a previously-committed directory symlink. iox.CopyFile opens the destination with os.Create (no O_NOFOLLOW), so the kernel follows the parent symlink and writes attacker bytes anywhere the gogs UID can write — ~git/.ssh/authorized_keys → SSH foothold, or <repo>.git/hooks/post-receive → next-push RCE. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.14.3. | ||||
| CVE-2026-55447 | 1 Langflow | 1 Langflow | 2026-06-24 | 9.6 Critical |
| Langflow is a tool for building and deploying AI-powered agents and workflows. Prior to 1.9.2, by controlling a files that are digested into the RAG, an attacker can direct the node to read any file on the file-system by absolute path. All components based on BaseFileComponent are vulnerable to the vulnerability. This includes Docling (DoclingInlineComponent), Docling Serve, DoclingRemoteComponent), Read File (FileComponent), NVIDIA Retriever Extraction (NvidiaIngestComponent), Video File (VideoFileComponent), and Unstructured API (UnstructuredComponent). This vulnerability is fixed in 1.9.2. | ||||
| CVE-2026-56815 | 1 Rasta-mouse | 1 Pwnlift | 2026-06-24 | 7.4 High |
| pwnlift before d7a9544, in a privileged deployment, contains a symlink following vulnerability in the upload handler in Components/Pages/Home.razor. | ||||
