CVE-2006-0197 1 X.org 1 X.org 2025-04-03 N/A
The XClientMessageEvent struct used in certain components of X.Org 6.8.2 and earlier, possibly including (1) the X server and (2) Xlib, uses a "long" specifier for elements of the l array, which results in inconsistent sizes in the struct on 32-bit versus 64-bit platforms, and might allow attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) and possibly conduct other attacks.
CVE-2006-3739 3 Redhat, X.org, Xfree86 Project 3 Enterprise Linux, X.org, Xfree86 X 2025-04-03 N/A
Integer overflow in the CIDAFM function in X.Org 6.8.2 and XFree86 X server allows local users to execute arbitrary code via crafted Adobe Font Metrics (AFM) files with a modified number of character metrics (StartCharMetrics), which leads to a heap-based buffer overflow.
CVE-2005-0605 8 Altlinux, Lesstif, Mandrakesoft and 5 more 12 Alt Linux, Lesstif, Mandrake Linux and 9 more 2025-04-03 N/A

CVE-2006-4447 1 X.org 9 Emu-linux-x87-xlibs, X11r6, X11r7 and 6 more 2025-04-03 N/A
X.Org and XFree86, including libX11, xdm, xf86dga, xinit, xload, xtrans, and xterm, does not check the return values for setuid and seteuid calls when attempting to drop privileges, which might allow local users to gain privileges by causing those calls to fail, such as by exceeding a ulimit.
CVE-1999-0526 1 X.org 1 X11 2025-04-03 N/A
An X server's access control is disabled (e.g. through an "xhost +" command) and allows anyone to connect to the server.
CVE-2022-44617 2 Redhat, X.org 6 Enterprise Linux, Rhel Aus, Rhel E4s and 3 more 2025-03-25 7.5 High
A flaw was found in libXpm. When processing a file with width of 0 and a very large height, some parser functions will be called repeatedly and can lead to an infinite loop, resulting in a Denial of Service in the application linked to the library.
CVE-2022-46285 2 Redhat, X.org 6 Enterprise Linux, Rhel Aus, Rhel E4s and 3 more 2025-03-25 7.5 High
A flaw was found in libXpm. This issue occurs when parsing a file with a comment not closed; the end-of-file condition will not be detected, leading to an infinite loop and resulting in a Denial of Service in the application linked to the library.
CVE-2022-4883 2 Redhat, X.org 6 Enterprise Linux, Rhel Aus, Rhel E4s and 3 more 2025-03-20 8.8 High
A flaw was found in libXpm. When processing files with .Z or .gz extensions, the library calls external programs to compress and uncompress files, relying on the PATH environment variable to find these programs, which could allow a malicious user to execute other programs by manipulating the PATH environment variable.
CVE-2023-0494 3 Fedoraproject, Redhat, X.org 22 Fedora, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Aus and 19 more 2025-02-24 7.8 High
A vulnerability was found in X.Org. This issue occurs due to a dangling pointer in DeepCopyPointerClasses that can be exploited by ProcXkbSetDeviceInfo() and ProcXkbGetDeviceInfo() to read and write into freed memory. This can lead to local privilege elevation on systems where the X server runs privileged and remote code execution for ssh X forwarding sessions.
CVE-2023-1393 3 Fedoraproject, Redhat, X.org 7 Fedora, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Aus and 4 more 2025-02-14 7.8 High
A flaw was found in X.Org Server Overlay Window. A Use-After-Free may lead to local privilege escalation. If a client explicitly destroys the compositor overlay window (aka COW), the Xserver would leave a dangling pointer to that window in the CompScreen structure, which will trigger a use-after-free later.
CVE-2022-46344 4 Debian, Fedoraproject, Redhat and 1 more 4 Debian Linux, Fedora, Enterprise Linux and 1 more 2025-02-13 8.8 High
A vulnerability was found in X.Org. This security flaw occurs because the handler for the XIChangeProperty request has a length-validation issues, resulting in out-of-bounds memory reads and potential information disclosure. This issue can lead to local privileges elevation on systems where the X server is running privileged and remote code execution for ssh X forwarding sessions.
CVE-2023-43787 3 Fedoraproject, Redhat, X.org 3 Fedora, Enterprise Linux, Libx11 2024-12-03 7.8 High
A vulnerability was found in libX11 due to an integer overflow within the XCreateImage() function. This flaw allows a local user to trigger an integer overflow and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.
CVE-2023-5380 4 Debian, Fedoraproject, Redhat and 1 more 5 Debian Linux, Fedora, Enterprise Linux and 2 more 2024-11-23 4.7 Medium
A use-after-free flaw was found in the xorg-x11-server. An X server crash may occur in a very specific and legacy configuration (a multi-screen setup with multiple protocol screens, also known as Zaphod mode) if the pointer is warped from within a window on one screen to the root window of the other screen and if the original window is destroyed followed by another window being destroyed.
CVE-2023-43786 3 Fedoraproject, Redhat, X.org 3 Fedora, Enterprise Linux, Libx11 2024-11-23 5.5 Medium
A vulnerability was found in libX11 due to an infinite loop within the PutSubImage() function. This flaw allows a local user to consume all available system resources and cause a denial of service condition.
CVE-2023-43785 3 Fedoraproject, Redhat, X.org 3 Fedora, Enterprise Linux, Libx11 2024-11-23 6.5 Medium
A vulnerability was found in libX11 due to a boundary condition within the _XkbReadKeySyms() function. This flaw allows a local user to trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read the contents of memory on the system.
CVE-2023-3138 2 Redhat, X.org 3 Enterprise Linux, Rhel Eus, Libx11 2024-11-21 7.5 High
A vulnerability was found in libX11. The security flaw occurs because the functions in src/InitExt.c in libX11 do not check that the values provided for the Request, Event, or Error IDs are within the bounds of the arrays that those functions write to, using those IDs as array indexes. They trust that they were called with values provided by an Xserver adhering to the bounds specified in the X11 protocol, as all X servers provided by X.Org do. As the protocol only specifies a single byte for these values, an out-of-bounds value provided by a malicious server (or a malicious proxy-in-the-middle) can only overwrite other portions of the Display structure and not write outside the bounds of the Display structure itself, possibly causing the client to crash with this memory corruption.
CVE-2022-2320 2 Redhat, X.org 2 Enterprise Linux, Xorg-server 2024-11-21 7.8 High
A flaw was found in the Xorg-x11-server. The specific flaw exists within the handling of ProcXkbSetDeviceInfo requests. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a memory access past the end of an allocated buffer. This flaw allows an attacker to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary code in the context of root.
CVE-2022-2319 2 Redhat, X.org 2 Enterprise Linux, Xorg-server 2024-11-21 7.8 High
A flaw was found in the Xorg-x11-server. An out-of-bounds access issue can occur in the ProcXkbSetGeometry function due to improper validation of the request length.
