CVE-2023-42670 | 3 Fedoraproject, Redhat, Samba | 4 Fedora, Enterprise Linux, Storage and 1 more | 2025-08-30 | 6.5 Medium |
A flaw was found in Samba. It is susceptible to a vulnerability where multiple incompatible RPC listeners can be initiated, causing disruptions in the AD DC service. When Samba's RPC server experiences a high load or unresponsiveness, servers intended for non-AD DC purposes (for example, NT4-emulation "classic DCs") can erroneously start and compete for the same unix domain sockets. This issue leads to partial query responses from the AD DC, causing issues such as "The procedure number is out of range" when using tools like Active Directory Users. This flaw allows an attacker to disrupt AD DC services.
CVE-2023-42669 | 2 Redhat, Samba | 10 Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Eus, Enterprise Linux For Ibm Z Systems and 7 more | 2025-08-30 | 6.5 Medium |
A vulnerability was found in Samba's "rpcecho" development server, a non-Windows RPC server used to test Samba's DCE/RPC stack elements. This vulnerability stems from an RPC function that can be blocked indefinitely. The issue arises because the "rpcecho" service operates with only one worker in the main RPC task, allowing calls to the "rpcecho" server to be blocked for a specified time, causing service disruptions. This disruption is triggered by a "sleep()" call in the "dcesrv_echo_TestSleep()" function under specific conditions. Authenticated users or attackers can exploit this vulnerability to make calls to the "rpcecho" server, requesting it to block for a specified duration, effectively disrupting most services and leading to a complete denial of service on the AD DC. The DoS affects all other services as "rpcecho" runs in the main RPC task.
CVE-2023-41175 | 3 Fedoraproject, Libtiff, Redhat | 3 Fedora, Libtiff, Enterprise Linux | 2025-08-30 | 6.5 Medium |
A vulnerability was found in libtiff due to multiple potential integer overflows in raw2tiff.c. This flaw allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly execute an arbitrary code via a crafted tiff image, which triggers a heap-based buffer overflow.
CVE-2023-40745 | 4 Fedoraproject, Libtiff, Netapp and 1 more | 4 Fedora, Libtiff, Active Iq Unified Manager and 1 more | 2025-08-30 | 6.5 Medium |
LibTIFF is vulnerable to an integer overflow. This flaw allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) or possibly execute an arbitrary code via a crafted tiff image, which triggers a heap-based buffer overflow.
CVE-2023-40661 | 2 Opensc Project, Redhat | 2 Opensc, Enterprise Linux | 2025-08-30 | 5.4 Medium |
Several memory vulnerabilities were identified within the OpenSC packages, particularly in the card enrollment process using pkcs15-init when a user or administrator enrolls cards. To take advantage of these flaws, an attacker must have physical access to the computer system and employ a custom-crafted USB device or smart card to manipulate responses to APDUs. This manipulation can potentially allow compromise key generation, certificate loading, and other card management operations during enrollment.
CVE-2023-40660 | 2 Opensc Project, Redhat | 2 Opensc, Enterprise Linux | 2025-08-30 | 6.6 Medium |
A flaw was found in OpenSC packages that allow a potential PIN bypass. When a token/card is authenticated by one process, it can perform cryptographic operations in other processes when an empty zero-length pin is passed. This issue poses a security risk, particularly for OS logon/screen unlock and for small, permanently connected tokens to computers. Additionally, the token can internally track login status. This flaw allows an attacker to gain unauthorized access, carry out malicious actions, or compromise the system without the user's awareness.
CVE-2023-40551 | 2 Fedoraproject, Redhat | 7 Fedora, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Aus and 4 more | 2025-08-30 | 5.1 Medium |
A flaw was found in the MZ binary format in Shim. An out-of-bounds read may occur, leading to a crash or possible exposure of sensitive data during the system's boot phase.
CVE-2023-40550 | 2 Fedoraproject, Redhat | 7 Fedora, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Aus and 4 more | 2025-08-30 | 5.5 Medium |
An out-of-bounds read flaw was found in Shim when it tried to validate the SBAT information. This issue may expose sensitive data during the system's boot phase.
CVE-2023-40549 | 2 Fedoraproject, Redhat | 7 Fedora, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Aus and 4 more | 2025-08-30 | 6.2 Medium |
An out-of-bounds read flaw was found in Shim due to the lack of proper boundary verification during the load of a PE binary. This flaw allows an attacker to load a crafted PE binary, triggering the issue and crashing Shim, resulting in a denial of service.
CVE-2023-40548 | 2 Fedoraproject, Redhat | 7 Fedora, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Aus and 4 more | 2025-08-30 | 7.4 High |
A buffer overflow was found in Shim in the 32-bit system. The overflow happens due to an addition operation involving a user-controlled value parsed from the PE binary being used by Shim. This value is further used for memory allocation operations, leading to a heap-based buffer overflow. This flaw causes memory corruption and can lead to a crash or data integrity issues during the boot phase.
CVE-2023-40546 | 2 Fedoraproject, Redhat | 7 Fedora, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Aus and 4 more | 2025-08-30 | 6.2 Medium |
A flaw was found in Shim when an error happened while creating a new ESL variable. If Shim fails to create the new variable, it tries to print an error message to the user; however, the number of parameters used by the logging function doesn't match the format string used by it, leading to a crash under certain circumstances.
CVE-2023-4091 | 3 Fedoraproject, Redhat, Samba | 7 Fedora, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Eus and 4 more | 2025-08-30 | 6.5 Medium |
A vulnerability was discovered in Samba, where the flaw allows SMB clients to truncate files, even with read-only permissions when the Samba VFS module "acl_xattr" is configured with "acl_xattr:ignore system acls = yes". The SMB protocol allows opening files when the client requests read-only access but then implicitly truncates the opened file to 0 bytes if the client specifies a separate OVERWRITE create disposition request. The issue arises in configurations that bypass kernel file system permissions checks, relying solely on Samba's permissions.
CVE-2023-4066 | 1 Redhat | 6 Amq Broker, Enterprise Linux, Jboss A-mq and 3 more | 2025-08-30 | 5.5 Medium |
A flaw was found in Red Hat's AMQ Broker, which stores certain passwords in a secret security-properties-prop-module, defined in ActivemqArtemisSecurity CR; however, they are shown in plaintext in the StatefulSet details yaml of AMQ Broker.
CVE-2023-4065 | 1 Redhat | 6 Amq Broker, Enterprise Linux, Jboss A-mq and 3 more | 2025-08-30 | 5.5 Medium |
A flaw was found in Red Hat AMQ Broker Operator, where it displayed a password defined in ActiveMQArtemisAddress CR, shown in plain text in the Operator Log. This flaw allows an authenticated local attacker to access information outside of their permissions.
CVE-2023-4010 | 2 Linux, Redhat | 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux | 2025-08-30 | 4.6 Medium |
A flaw was found in the USB Host Controller Driver framework in the Linux kernel. The usb_giveback_urb function has a logic loophole in its implementation. Due to the inappropriate judgment condition of the goto statement, the function cannot return under the input of a specific malformed descriptor file, so it falls into an endless loop, resulting in a denial of service.
CVE-2023-4001 | 3 Fedoraproject, Gnu, Redhat | 4 Fedora, Grub2, Enterprise Linux and 1 more | 2025-08-30 | 6.8 Medium |
An authentication bypass flaw was found in GRUB due to the way that GRUB uses the UUID of a device to search for the configuration file that contains the password hash for the GRUB password protection feature. An attacker capable of attaching an external drive such as a USB stick containing a file system with a duplicate UUID (the same as in the "/boot/" file system) can bypass the GRUB password protection feature on UEFI systems, which enumerate removable drives before non-removable ones. This issue was introduced in a downstream patch in Red Hat's version of grub2 and does not affect the upstream package. |
