| Certain "programming errors" in the msync system call for FreeBSD 5.2.1 and earlier, and 4.10 and earlier, do not properly handle the MS_INVALIDATE operation, which leads to cache consistency problems that allow a local user to prevent certain changes to files from being committed to disk. | ||||
| CVE-2004-0602 | 1 Freebsd | 1 Freebsd | 2026-04-16 | N/A |
| The binary compatibility mode for FreeBSD 4.x and 5.x does not properly handle certain Linux system calls, which could allow local users to access kernel memory to gain privileges or cause a system panic. | ||||
| CVE-2004-0919 | 1 Freebsd | 1 Freebsd | 2026-04-16 | N/A |
| The syscons CONS_SCRSHOT ioctl in FreeBSD 5.x allows local users to read arbitrary kernel memory via (1) negative coordinates or (2) large coordinates. | ||||
| CVE-2006-0379 | 1 Freebsd | 1 Freebsd | 2026-04-16 | N/A |
| FreeBSD kernel 5.4-STABLE and 6.0 does not completely initialize a buffer before making it available to userland, which could allow local users to read portions of kernel memory. | ||||
| CVE-2004-1471 | 6 Cvs, Freebsd, Gentoo and 3 more | 6 Cvs, Freebsd, Linux and 3 more | 2026-04-16 | N/A |
| Format string vulnerability in wrapper.c in CVS 1.12.x through 1.12.8, and 1.11.x through 1.11.16 allows remote attackers with CVSROOT commit access to cause a denial of service (application crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via format string specifiers in a wrapper line. | ||||
| CVE-2006-0054 | 1 Freebsd | 1 Freebsd | 2026-04-16 | 5.3 Medium |
| The ipfw firewall in FreeBSD 6.0-RELEASE allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (firewall crash) via ICMP IP fragments that match a reset, reject or unreach action, which leads to an access of an uninitialized pointer. | ||||
| CVE-2006-0226 | 1 Freebsd | 1 Freebsd | 2026-04-16 | N/A |
| Integer overflow in IEEE 802.11 network subsystem (ieee80211_ioctl.c) in FreeBSD before 6.0-STABLE, while scanning for wireless networks, allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by broadcasting crafted (1) beacon or (2) probe response frames. | ||||
| CVE-2006-0433 | 1 Freebsd | 1 Freebsd | 2026-04-16 | N/A |
| Selective Acknowledgement (SACK) in FreeBSD 5.3 and 5.4 does not properly handle an incoming selective acknowledgement when there is insufficient memory, which might allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (infinite loop). | ||||
| CVE-2004-0171 | 2 Freebsd, Openbsd | 2 Freebsd, Openbsd | 2026-04-16 | N/A |
| FreeBSD 5.1 and earlier, and Mac OS X before 10.3.4, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (resource exhaustion of memory buffers and system crash) via a large number of out-of-sequence TCP packets, which prevents the operating system from creating new connections. | ||||
| CVE-2005-2218 | 1 Freebsd | 1 Freebsd | 2026-04-16 | N/A |
| The device file system (devfs) in FreeBSD 5.x does not properly check parameters of the node type when creating a device node, which makes hidden devices available to attackers, who can then bypass restrictions on a jailed process. | ||||
| CVE-2003-0688 | 6 Compaq, Freebsd, Openbsd and 3 more | 7 Tru64, Freebsd, Openbsd and 4 more | 2026-04-16 | N/A |
| The DNS map code in Sendmail 8.12.8 and earlier, when using the "enhdnsbl" feature, does not properly initialize certain data structures, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (process crash) via an invalid DNS response that causes Sendmail to free incorrect data. | ||||
| CVE-2003-0001 | 5 Freebsd, Linux, Microsoft and 2 more | 6 Freebsd, Linux Kernel, Windows 2000 and 3 more | 2026-04-16 | 5.3 Medium |
| Multiple ethernet Network Interface Card (NIC) device drivers do not pad frames with null bytes, which allows remote attackers to obtain information from previous packets or kernel memory by using malformed packets, as demonstrated by Etherleak. | ||||
| CVE-2003-0694 | 12 Apple, Compaq, Freebsd and 9 more | 20 Mac Os X, Mac Os X Server, Tru64 and 17 more | 2026-04-16 | N/A |
| The prescan function in Sendmail 8.12.9 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via buffer overflow attacks, as demonstrated using the parseaddr function in parseaddr.c. | ||||
| CVE-2024-41928 | 1 Freebsd | 1 Freebsd | 2026-04-15 | 8.4 High |
| Malicious software running in a guest VM can exploit the buffer overflow to achieve code execution on the host in the bhyve userspace process, which typically runs as root. Note that bhyve runs in a Capsicum sandbox, so malicious code is constrained by the capabilities available to the bhyve process. | ||||
| CVE-2024-51563 | 1 Freebsd | 1 Freebsd | 2026-04-15 | 6.5 Medium |
| The virtio_vq_recordon function is subject to a time-of-check to time-of-use (TOCTOU) race condition. | ||||
| CVE-2024-6640 | 1 Freebsd | 1 Freebsd | 2026-04-15 | 6.3 Medium |
| In ICMPv6 Neighbor Discovery (ND), the ID is always 0. When pf is configured to allow ND and block incoming Echo Requests, a crafted Echo Request packet after a Neighbor Solicitation (NS) can trigger an Echo Reply. The packet has to come from the same host as the NS and have a zero as identifier to match the state created by the Neighbor Discovery and allow replies to be generated. ICMPv6 packets with identifier value of zero bypass firewall rules written on the assumption that the incoming packets are going to create a state in the state table. | ||||
| CVE-2024-41721 | 1 Freebsd | 1 Freebsd | 2026-04-15 | 8.1 High |
| An insufficient boundary validation in the USB code could lead to an out-of-bounds read on the heap, which could potentially lead to an arbitrary write and remote code execution. | ||||
| CVE-2025-0374 | 1 Freebsd | 1 Freebsd | 2026-04-15 | 6.5 Medium |
| When etcupdate encounters conflicts while merging files, it saves a version containing conflict markers in /var/db/etcupdate/conflicts. This version does not preserve the mode of the input file, and is world-readable. This applies to files that would normally have restricted visibility, such as /etc/master.passwd. An unprivileged local user may be able to read encrypted root and user passwords from the temporary master.passwd file created in /var/db/etcupdate/conflicts. This is possible only when conflicts within the password file arise during an update, and the unprotected file is deleted when conflicts are resolved. | ||||
| CVE-2025-0373 | 2 Freebsd, Netapp | 2 Freebsd, Ontap | 2026-04-15 | 6 Medium |
| On 64-bit systems, the implementation of VOP_VPTOFH() in the cd9660, tarfs and ext2fs filesystems overflows the destination FID buffer by 4 bytes, a stack buffer overflow. A NFS server that exports a cd9660, tarfs, or ext2fs file system can be made to panic by mounting and accessing the export with an NFS client. Further exploitation (e.g., bypassing file permission checking or remote kernel code execution) is potentially possible, though this has not been demonstrated. In particular, release kernels are compiled with stack protection enabled, and some instances of the overflow are caught by this mechanism, causing a panic. | ||||
