CVE-2026-59728 1 Withastro 1 Astro 2026-07-28 4.3 Medium
Astro is a web framework for content-driven websites. In versions 1.0.0 through 4.0.18, the source.title and enclosure.type item fields in packages/astro-rss/src/index.ts are interpolated directly into XML template strings without XML-character escaping before being parsed by fast-xml-parser. Both fields are validated only as z.string(), placing no restriction on XML special characters. An attacker who controls these values can inject arbitrary XML into the generated RSS feed: a value containing " can break out of an attribute (as with enclosure.type), and a value containing can close an element early and inject additional nodes (as with source.title). This corrupts feed structure, injects false metadata (for example, a fake
pointing to a malicious URL), and can cause feed readers to misparse or display attacker-controlled content. In SSR mode (output: 'server'), the poisoned feed is served on every request to all subscribers. This issue has been fixed in version 4.0.19.
CVE-2026-15037 1 Qt 1 Qt 2026-07-23 N/A
Improper output neutralization (XML injection) in QDom comment, CDATA, and processing-instruction serialization in Qt XML from 4.0.0 through 6.11 allows untrusted text serialized by an application into those nodes to inject arbitrary XML markup, because the node terminators are not escaped under the default InvalidDataPolicy (AcceptInvalidChars). Fixed in Qt 6.12.
CVE-2026-55789 1 Logto-io 1 Logto 2026-07-13 8.5 High
Logto is the modern, open-source auth infrastructure for SaaS and AI apps. Prior to 1.41.0, Logto's self-hosted SAML application IdP built the signed SAML response and assertion by string-substituting user-controlled profile attributes such as name, email, and custom attribute-mapping values into element-text placeholders of a SAML XML template using samlify 2.10.0, which left those placeholders unescaped. An authenticated low-privilege user could place XML markup in a profile attribute so Logto signed a forged SAML attribute, such as an arbitrary role, allowing privilege escalation at relying Service Providers that authorize on SAML attributes. This issue is fixed in version 1.41.0.
CVE-2026-53723 2026-06-11 5.8 Medium
Guzzle Services provides an implementation of the Guzzle Command library that uses Guzzle service descriptions to describe web services, serialize requests, and parse responses into easy to use model structures. Versions prior ro 1.5.4 do not safely serialize scalar XML element values containing the CDATA terminator ``. The XML request serializer writes values containing `<`, `>`, or `&` with `XMLWriter::writeCData($value)`. If attacker-controlled input contains ``, the CDATA section closes early and the remainder is interpreted as XML markup. This is an outgoing request-body integrity issue, not a response parsing issue. The attacker does not need to control the service description or schema. Users are affected when all of the following are true: the application uses `guzzlehttp/guzzle-services` to serialize outgoing requests; a request parameter or `additionalParameters` schema uses `location: xml`; the value is serialized as XML element text, not an XML attribute; the value can contain attacker-controlled, user-controlled, tenant-controlled, or otherwise untrusted input; the value is not constrained by a safe `enum`, `pattern`, or custom filter that excludes ``; and the downstream service parses the generated XML structurally and may act on unexpected, duplicated, or injected elements. Applications that serialize untrusted input into `location: xml` request parameters can emit XML containing attacker-controlled elements outside the intended text node. Depending on the receiving service, this can alter operation semantics, smuggle privileged fields, bypass modeled parameter boundaries, or create conflicting duplicated elements. Fixed service descriptions are sufficient if they contain an XML element parameter populated from attacker-controlled input. Users are not directly affected if they only use Guzzle Services to deserialize HTTP response bodies. Response XML parsing uses the response XML location visitor and does not invoke the vulnerable request XML serializer. Response bodies matter only in a second-order flow, such as parsing attacker-controlled response XML, storing or forwarding a parsed string value, and later using it as a `location: xml` request parameter. The issue is patched in `1.5.3` and later by safely splitting embedded CDATA terminators before serialization. The fix preserves the original scalar value as XML text and prevents injected nodes. As a workaround, constrain attacker-controlled XML element values with a strict `enum`, `pattern`, or custom filter that excludes ``, or avoid serializing untrusted data into `location: xml` element text until patched. Where appropriate for the service schema, XML attributes are not affected because they are written with XMLWriter attribute APIs rather than CDATA sections. To determine whether action is needed, search service descriptions for request parameters using `location: xml`, including operation `parameters` and `additionalParameters`. Response-only `models` are not directly affected unless parsed values are reused for request serialization. For object and array parameters, review nested scalar properties because leaf element values can still be affected.
CVE-2026-46490 2 Samlify Project, Tngan 2 Samlify, Samlify 2026-06-09 8.8 High
samlify is a Node.js library for SAML single sign-on. Prior to version 2.13.0, samlify’s template substitution only escapes attribute contexts. Values inserted into element text (e.g., <saml:AttributeValue>) are not escaped. A normal user can inject XML markup into an attribute value (e.g., email, name) and add new <saml:Attribute> elements inside the signed assertion. The IdP then signs the tampered assertion and the SP accepts the injected attributes as trusted. This allows privilege escalation when attributes are used for authorization (roles/groups). This issue has been patched in version 2.13.0.
CVE-2026-11169 4 Apple, Google, Linux and 1 more 4 Macos, Chrome, Linux Kernel and 1 more 2026-06-08 8.1 High
Inappropriate implementation in XML in Google Chrome prior to 149.0.7827.53 allowed a remote attacker to inject arbitrary scripts or HTML (UXSS) via a crafted XML file. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
CVE-2026-47273 1 Mcdope 1 Pam Usb 2026-05-29 6.5 Medium
pam_usb provides hardware authentication for Linux using ordinary removable media. Prior to 0.9.0, pam_usb builds XPath expressions from user-supplied identifiers (PAM username, service name) and device-supplied identifiers (USB device serial, model, vendor) to query /etc/pamusb.conf. These identifiers were not validated for XPath metacharacters, allowing injection of arbitrary XPath predicates. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.9.0.
CVE-2026-40165 1 Goauthentik 1 Authentik 2026-05-21 8.7 High
authentik is an open-source identity provider. Versions 2025.12.4 and prior, and versions 2026.2.0-rc1 through 2026.2.2 were vulnerable to Authentication Bypass through SAML NameID XML Comment Injection. Due to how authentik extracted the NameID value from a SAML assertion, it was possible for an attacker to trick authentik into only seeing a part of the NameID value, potentially allowing an attacker to gain access to other accounts. This issue could be exploited on an authentik instance with a SAML Source, where the attacker had an account on the SAML Source and the ability to modify their NameID value (commonly username or E-mail), and XML Signing was enabled. The attacker could modify the SAML assertion given to authentik by injecting a comment within the NameID value, which effectively truncated the NameID value to the snippet before the comment, and gave the attacker access to any user account. This issue has been fixed in versions 2025.12.5 and 2026.2.3.
CVE-2026-44665 1 Naturalintelligence 1 Fast-xml-builder 2026-05-18 6.1 Medium
fast-xml-builder builds XML from JSON. Prior to 1.1.7, when an input data has quotes in attribute values but process entities is not enabled, it breaks the attribute value into multiple attributes. This gives the room for an attacker to insert unwanted attributes to the XML/HTML. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.1.7.
CVE-2026-44664 1 Naturalintelligence 1 Fast-xml-builder 2026-05-14 6.1 Medium
fast-xml-builder builds XML from JSON. In 1.1.5, the fix for CVE-2026-41650 in fast-xml-parser sanitizes -- sequences in XML comment content using .replace(/--/g, '- -'). This skip the values containing three consecutive dashes (e.g., --->...), allowing an attacker to break out of an XML comment and inject arbitrary XML/HTML content. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.1.6.
CVE-2026-41650 1 Naturalintelligence 1 Fast-xml-parser 2026-05-12 6.1 Medium
fast-xml-parser allows users to process XML from JS object without C/C++ based libraries or callbacks. Prior to version 5.7.0, XMLBuilder does not escape the "-->" sequence in comment content or the "" sequence in CDATA sections when building XML from JavaScript objects. This allows XML injection when user-controlled data flows into comments or CDATA elements, leading to XSS, SOAP injection, or data manipulation. This issue has been patched in version 5.7.0.
CVE-2026-27693 1 Traccar 1 Traccar 2026-05-08 5.4 Medium
Traccar is an open source GPS tracking system. In org.traccar:traccar versions starting at 6.11.1 before 6.13.0, the KML and GPX export functionality writes device names to XML output without proper escaping. An attacker with low privileges can create a device with a crafted name that injects XML content into exported files. If another user exports and opens the affected KML or GPX file, this can corrupt the file structure and spoof exported location data. This issue is fixed in version 6.13.0.
CVE-2026-41672 1 Xmldom 1 Xmldom 2026-05-07 N/A
xmldom is a pure JavaScript W3C standard-based (XML DOM Level 2 Core) `DOMParser` and `XMLSerializer` module. In @xmldom/xmldom prior to versions 0.9.10 and 0.8.13 and xmldom version 0.6.0 and prior, the package allows attacker-controlled comment content to be serialized into XML without validating or neutralizing comment-breaking sequences. As a result, an attacker can terminate the comment early and inject arbitrary XML nodes into the serialized output. This issue has been patched in versions @xmldom/xmldom versions 0.9.10 and 0.8.13.
CVE-2026-41674 1 Xmldom 1 Xmldom 2026-05-07 7.5 High
xmldom is a pure JavaScript W3C standard-based (XML DOM Level 2 Core) `DOMParser` and `XMLSerializer` module. In @xmldom/xmldom prior to versions 0.9.10 and 0.8.13 and xmldom version 0.6.0 and prior, the package serializes DocumentType node fields (internalSubset, publicId, systemId) verbatim without any escaping or validation. When these fields are set programmatically to attacker-controlled strings, XMLSerializer.serializeToString can produce output where the DOCTYPE declaration is terminated early and arbitrary markup appears outside it. This issue has been patched in versions @xmldom/xmldom versions 0.9.10 and 0.8.13.
CVE-2026-41675 1 Xmldom 1 Xmldom 2026-05-07 N/A
xmldom is a pure JavaScript W3C standard-based (XML DOM Level 2 Core) `DOMParser` and `XMLSerializer` module. In @xmldom/xmldom prior to versions 0.9.10 and 0.8.13 and xmldom version 0.6.0 and prior, the package allows attacker-controlled processing instruction data to be serialized into XML without validating or neutralizing the PI-closing sequence ?>. As a result, an attacker can terminate the processing instruction early and inject arbitrary XML nodes into the serialized output. This issue has been patched in versions @xmldom/xmldom versions 0.9.10 and 0.8.13.
CVE-2026-34479 1 Apache 2 Log4j, Log4j 1 2 Api 2026-05-06 7.5 High
The Log4j1XmlLayout from the Apache Log4j 1-to-Log4j 2 bridge fails to escape characters forbidden by the XML 1.0 standard, producing malformed XML output. Conforming XML parsers are required to reject documents containing such characters with a fatal error, which may cause downstream log processing systems to drop or fail to index affected records. Two groups of users are affected: * Those using Log4j1XmlLayout directly in a Log4j Core 2 configuration file. * Those using the Log4j 1 configuration compatibility layer with org.apache.log4j.xml.XMLLayout specified as the layout class. Users are advised to upgrade to Apache Log4j 1-to-Log4j 2 bridge version 2.25.4, which corrects this issue. Note: The Apache Log4j 1-to-Log4j 2 bridge is deprecated and will not be present in Log4j 3. Users are encouraged to consult the Log4j 1 to Log4j 2 migration guide https://logging.apache.org/log4j/2.x/migrate-from-log4j1.html , and specifically the section on eliminating reliance on the bridge.
CVE-2026-32870 1 Getkirby 1 Kirby 2026-04-27 7.5 High
Kirby is an open-source content management system. Kirby's `Xml::value()` method has special handling for ` ` blocks. If the input value is already valid `CDATA`, it is not escaped a second time but allowed to pass through. However, prior to versions 4.9.0 and 5.4.0, it was possible to trick this check into allowing values that only contained a valid `CDATA` block but also contained other structured data outside of the `CDATA` block. This structured data would then also be allowed to pass through, circumventing the value protection. The `Xml::value()` method is used in `Xml::tag()`, `Xml::create()` and in the `Xml` data handler (e.g. `Data::encode($string, 'xml')`). Both the vulnerable methods and the data handler are not used in the Kirby core. However they may be used in site or plugin code, e.g. to create XML strings from input data. If those generated files are passed to another implementation that assigns specific meaning to the XML schema, manipulation of this system's behavior is possible. Kirby sites that don't use XML generation in site or plugin code are not affected. The problem has been patched in Kirby 4.9.0 and Kirby 5.4.0. In all of the mentioned releases, Kirby has added additional checks that only allow unchanged `CDATA` passthrough if the entire string is made up of valid `CDATA` blocks and no structured data. This protects all uses of the method against the described vulnerability.
CVE-2008-5024 4 Canonical, Debian, Mozilla and 1 more 6 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Firefox and 3 more 2026-04-23 N/A
Mozilla Firefox 3.x before 3.0.4, Firefox 2.x before 2.0.0.18, Thunderbird 2.x before 2.0.0.18, and SeaMonkey 1.x before 1.1.13 do not properly escape quote characters used for XML processing, which allows remote attackers to conduct XML injection attacks via the default namespace in an E4X document.
CVE-2025-9375 2 Xmltodict, Xmltodict Project 2 Xmltodict, Xmltodict 2026-04-22 5.3 Medium
XML Injection vulnerability in xmltodict allows Input Data Manipulation. This issue affects xmltodict: from 0.14.2 before 0.15.1. NOTE: the scope of this CVE is disputed by the vendor on the grounds that xmltodict.unparse() delegates element-name handling to Python's xml.sax.saxutils.XMLGenerator, and that XMLGenerator should be the component performing validation.
CVE-2026-24043 1 Parall 1 Jspdf 2026-04-18 5.4 Medium
jsPDF is a library to generate PDFs in JavaScript. Prior to 4.1.0, user control of the first argument of the addMetadata function allows users to inject arbitrary XML. If given the possibility to pass unsanitized input to the addMetadata method, a user can inject arbitrary XMP metadata into the generated PDF. If the generated PDF is signed, stored or otherwise processed after, the integrity of the PDF can no longer be guaranteed. The vulnerability has been fixed in jsPDF@4.1.0.
