| CVE-2022-48743 | 2 Linux, Redhat | 6 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Aus and 3 more | 2026-08-04 | 8.1 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: amd-xgbe: Fix skb data length underflow There will be BUG_ON() triggered in include/linux/skbuff.h leading to intermittent kernel panic, when the skb length underflow is detected. Fix this by dropping the packet if such length underflows are seen because of inconsistencies in the hardware descriptors. | ||||
| CVE-2022-48717 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-08-04 | 7.1 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: max9759: fix underflow in speaker_gain_control_put() Check for negative values of "priv->gain" to prevent an out of bounds access. The concern is that these might come from the user via: -> snd_ctl_elem_write_user() -> snd_ctl_elem_write() -> kctl->put() | ||||
| CVE-2021-47555 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-08-04 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: vlan: fix underflow for the real_dev refcnt Inject error before dev_hold(real_dev) in register_vlan_dev(), and execute the following testcase: ip link add dev dummy1 type dummy ip link add name dummy1.100 link dummy1 type vlan id 100 ip link del dev dummy1 When the dummy netdevice is removed, we will get a WARNING as following: ======================================================================= refcount_t: decrement hit 0; leaking memory. WARNING: CPU: 2 PID: 0 at lib/refcount.c:31 refcount_warn_saturate+0xbf/0x1e0 and an endless loop of: ======================================================================= unregister_netdevice: waiting for dummy1 to become free. Usage count = -1073741824 That is because dev_put(real_dev) in vlan_dev_free() be called without dev_hold(real_dev) in register_vlan_dev(). It makes the refcnt of real_dev underflow. Move the dev_hold(real_dev) to vlan_dev_init() which is the call-back of ndo_init(). That makes dev_hold() and dev_put() for vlan's real_dev symmetrical. | ||||
| CVE-2021-47496 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-08-04 | 9.8 Critical |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/tls: Fix flipped sign in tls_err_abort() calls sk->sk_err appears to expect a positive value, a convention that ktls doesn't always follow and that leads to memory corruption in other code. For instance, [kworker] tls_encrypt_done(..., err=<negative error from crypto request>) tls_err_abort(.., err) sk->sk_err = err; [task] splice_from_pipe_feed ... tls_sw_do_sendpage if (sk->sk_err) { ret = -sk->sk_err; // ret is positive splice_from_pipe_feed (continued) ret = actor(...) // ret is still positive and interpreted as bytes // written, resulting in underflow of buf->len and // sd->len, leading to huge buf->offset and bogus // addresses computed in later calls to actor() Fix all tls_err_abort() callers to pass a negative error code consistently and centralize the error-prone sign flip there, throwing in a warning to catch future misuse and uninlining the function so it really does only warn once. | ||||
| CVE-2026-16439 | 1 Eclipse | 1 Openj9 | 2026-07-23 | N/A |
| In Eclipse OpenJ9 versions up to 0.60, using -Xtrace to trace method arguments can lead to buffer underflow. | ||||
| CVE-2026-63883 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-07-21 | 7.3 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: serial: qcom_geni: fix kfifo underflow when flush precedes DMA completion IRQ When uart_flush_buffer() runs before the DMA completion IRQ is delivered, the following race can occur (all steps serialized by uart_port_lock): 1. DMA starts: tx_remaining = N, kfifo contains N bytes 2. DMA completes in hardware; IRQ is pending but not yet delivered 3. uart_flush_buffer() acquires the port lock and calls kfifo_reset(), making kfifo_len() = 0 while tx_remaining remains N 4. uart_flush_buffer() releases the port lock 5. DMA IRQ fires; handle_tx_dma() acquires the port lock and calls uart_xmit_advance(uport, tx_remaining) on an empty kfifo uart_xmit_advance() increments kfifo->out by tx_remaining. Since kfifo_reset() already set both in and out to 0, out wraps past in, causing kfifo_len() to return UART_XMIT_SIZE - tx_remaining. The next start_tx_dma() call then submits a DMA transfer of stale buffer data. Fix this by snapshotting kfifo_len() at the start of handle_tx_dma() and skipping uart_xmit_advance() when fifo_len < tx_remaining, which indicates the kfifo was reset by a preceding flush. | ||||
| CVE-2026-26199 | 1 Hdfgroup | 1 Hdf5 | 2026-07-20 | 5.3 Medium |
| HDF5 is a high-performance library and a file format specification that implements the HDF5 data model. If `H5Iget_name` is invoked on a group id with `0` for the size parameter, it will underflow when trying to place a null terminator in the buffer. This can occur if `H5Iget_name` is invoked in a way where `size` can be forced to zero, and there is important data before the `name` buffer. | ||||
| CVE-2025-4373 | 1 Redhat | 8 Enterprise Linux, Insights Proxy, Openshift Distributed Tracing and 5 more | 2026-06-30 | 4.8 Medium |
| A flaw was found in GLib, which is vulnerable to an integer overflow in the g_string_insert_unichar() function. When the position at which to insert the character is large, the position will overflow, leading to a buffer underwrite. | ||||
| CVE-2026-52992 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-06-26 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs/adfs: validate nzones in adfs_validate_bblk() Reject ADFS disc records with a zero zone count during boot block validation, before the disc record is used. When nzones is 0, adfs_read_map() passes it to kmalloc_array(0, ...) which returns ZERO_SIZE_PTR, and adfs_map_layout() then writes to dm[-1], causing an out-of-bounds write before the allocated buffer. adfs_validate_dr0() already rejects nzones != 1 for old-format images. Add the equivalent check to adfs_validate_bblk() for new-format images so that a crafted image with nzones == 0 is rejected at probe time. Found by syzkaller. | ||||
| CVE-2026-48724 | 1 Imagemagick | 1 Imagemagick | 2026-06-11 | 5.5 Medium |
| ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to version 7.1.2-24, when using an image with mask the Floyd-Steinberg dithering method it will cause a negative heap buffer over-write. This issue has been patched in version 7.1.2-24. | ||||
| CVE-2026-44631 | 1 Apache | 2 Apache Http Server, Http Server | 2026-06-11 | 9.8 Critical |
| Buffer Underwrite vulnerability in Apache HTTP Server on crafted regular expressions in the configuration. This issue affects Apache HTTP Server: from 2.4.0 through 2.4.67. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.4.68, which fixes the issue. | ||||
| CVE-2026-1484 | 1 Redhat | 1 Enterprise Linux | 2026-06-02 | 4.2 Medium |
| A flaw was found in the GLib Base64 encoding routine when processing very large input data. Due to incorrect use of integer types during length calculation, the library may miscalculate buffer boundaries. This can cause memory writes outside the allocated buffer. Applications that process untrusted or extremely large Base64 input using GLib may crash or behave unpredictably. | ||||
| CVE-2026-46136 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-06-01 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mt76: mt7921: fix a potential clc buffer length underflow The buf_len is used to limit the iterations for retrieving the country power setting and may underflow under certain conditions due to changes in the power table in CLC. This underflow leads to an almost infinite loop or an invalid power setting resulting in driver initialization failure. | ||||
| CVE-2024-36343 | 1 Amd | 17 Epyc 4004, Epyc 4005, Ryzen 6000 Series Processors With Radeon Graphics and 14 more | 2026-05-20 | N/A |
| Improper input validation in the System Management Mode (SMM) communications buffer could allow a privileged attacker to perform an out of bounds read or write to a limited section of the Top of Memory Segment (TSEG) memory region, potentially resulting in loss of confidentiality or integrity. | ||||
| CVE-2026-0966 | 2 Libssh, Redhat | 6 Libssh, Enterprise Linux, Hardened Images and 3 more | 2026-05-19 | 8.2 High |
| A flaw was found in libssh. The API function `ssh_get_hexa()` is vulnerable to a denial of service when processing zero-length input. This can be exploited remotely by an attacker during GSSAPI (Generic Security Service Application Program Interface) authentication if the server's logging verbosity is set to `SSH_LOG_PACKET (3)` or higher. Successful exploitation could lead to a self-Denial of Service of the per-connection daemon process. | ||||
| CVE-2026-34253 | 1 Xiph | 1 Vorbis-tools | 2026-05-18 | 8.2 High |
| A buffer underflow vulnerability has been identified in the ogg123 utility from the vorbis-tools 1.4.3 package in function remotethread in remote.c. This vulnerability occurs in the remote control functionality when processing malformed input, leading to a stack buffer underflow that can cause application crashes and potentially allow code execution. | ||||
| CVE-2026-5089 | 1 Toddr | 1 Yaml::syck | 2026-05-14 | 7.3 High |
| YAML::Syck versions before 1.38 for Perl has an out-of-bounds read. The base60 (sexagesimal) parsing code in perl_syck.h has a buffer underflow bug in both int#base60 and float#base60 handlers. When processing the leftmost segment of a colon-separated value (e.g., the 1 in 1:30:45), the inner while loop can decrement a pointer past the start of the string buffer: while ( colon >= ptr && *colon != ':' ) { colon--; } if ( *colon == ':' ) *colon = '\0'; // colon may be ptr-1 here When no colon is found (final/leftmost segment), colon becomes ptr-1, and the subsequent *colon dereference reads one byte before the allocated buffer. | ||||
| CVE-2026-41499 | 1 Wazuh | 1 Wazuh | 2026-05-01 | 6.5 Medium |
| Wazuh is a free and open source platform used for threat prevention, detection, and response. From version 4.0.0 to before version 4.14.4, multiple heap-based out-of-bounds WRITE vulnerabilities exist in parse_uname_string() (remoted_op.c). This function processes OS identification data from agents and contains a dangerous code pattern that appears in 4 locations within the same function: writing to strlen(ptr) - 1 without checking for empty strings. When the string is empty, strlen() returns 0, and 0 - 1 wraps to SIZE_MAX due to unsigned integer underflow. Due to pointer arithmetic wrapping, SIZE_MAX effectively becomes -1, causing a write exactly 1 byte before the allocated buffer. This corrupts heap metadata (e.g., the chunk size field in glibc malloc), leading to heap corruption. This issue has been patched in version 4.14.4. | ||||
| CVE-2026-26204 | 1 Wazuh | 1 Wazuh | 2026-04-30 | 4.4 Medium |
| Wazuh is a free and open source platform used for threat prevention, detection, and response. From version 1.0.0 to before version 4.14.4, a heap-based out-of-bounds WRITE occurs in GetAlertData, resulting in writing a NULL byte exactly 1 byte before the start of the buffer allocated by strdup. Due to unsigned integer underflow and pointer arithmetic wrapping, the write lands at offset -1 from the buffer, corrupting heap metadata. A malicious actor can potentially leverage this issue through a compromised agent to cause denial of service or heap corruption by injecting a specially crafted alert into the alerts log file monitored by wazuh-logcollector. This issue has been patched in version 4.14.4. | ||||
| CVE-2015-2426 | 1 Microsoft | 9 Windows 10, Windows 7, Windows 8 and 6 more | 2026-04-22 | 8.8 High |
| Buffer underflow in atmfd.dll in the Windows Adobe Type Manager Library in Microsoft Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 SP2 and R2 SP1, Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 Gold and R2, and Windows RT Gold and 8.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted OpenType font, aka "OpenType Font Driver Vulnerability." | ||||
